The desert sun beat down relentlessly on the abandoned vehicle, its metallic shell shimmering in the heat. Inside, a lone figure slumped over the steering wheel, sweat plastering locks to their forehead. I was lost/bewildered/uncertain and the fear/panic/terror began to churn/rise/swell within me.
